Maclaren Stroller Recall: a Walk in the Park

Now everytime I stop at Harmony I see hundreds of Maclarens. I mean, this is the number one stroller here in the Slope. Same at pre-school dropoff in the stroller parking lot. For any kid older than 1, this is the easiest to use, best stroller to have.

So I'm surprised that my mom and dad friends haven't been buzzing about this one at all. Twelve finger amputations? Millions of strollers sold. That's a pretty good record.

Is this another one of those parental negligence things? that's what I think of first whenever we get a recall notice. I ask myself, if the kid is using the product with me watching closely and involved, what are the chances of this happening? This time, it seems like no chance at all.

Interestingly, being just back from the U.K. on business, the BBC over there reported that Maclaren is not recalling any of its models at all. I gotta think that this recall is over-protection due to a few parents screwing up but not being able to handle the blame.

Dude at Haunted Prospect Park Lets it all Hang Out

We head over to the Park yesterday for the haunted walk, carnival and get pleasantly surprised by the pony cart ride. On the way back, this dad is pulling a wagon with what are likely his two kids. He's got the g-string and everything else is painted silver and hanging out.

I say, save it for the Village, bud.
